This is where Microsoft has a fault, while I agree if we choose to use old apps that are not Windows 10 compliant, we're at fault if it resets that specific extension (zip in this case), it should not reset ALL others. Because it does it incorrectly, it triggers ALL files associations (not only ZIP) to reset back to their default settings. Because this older version of Winzip is not aware of Windows 10, it tries to make changes to file associations for zip files in an incorrect way in the registry. I suspect in your case (it is in mine), you're using an older version of Winzip. Apparently, it's a third party program that's causing it.
